CTSAA Awards

As if scripted from a Charles Dickens novel, “It was the best of years; it was the worst of years” for Desert Stoneworks. In 2010 we produced some of our finest work! The CTSAA presented us awards for Contractor of the Year and Fabricator of the Year. Additionally we won four other awards for Best in Class projects including the Best Stone installation in a house 6,000 – 10,000 square feet, Best Slab Kitchen of the Year for a home in the same size category, and Specialty Slab Project for an incredible, one of a kind lighted onyx tub feature in addition to a remarkable orchid atrium replete with controlled atmosphere, stone pool fountain and soaring ceiling with tumbled onyx. This incredible specialty award for tile installation also included handmade stone orchid pots mounted on a ten foot radius stone wall. . . Amazing.
Yes, it was the best of years for one of our original tile setters. He was the recipient of the highly coveted Tom Yochum Craftsmanship Award for Excellence in Stone Installation. WOW!
Having said that, it was also one of the “Worst of Years”, economically speaking. But, as we like to say, the real measure of a company is not how it handles success but how it deals with adversity.
I’m happy to say, our doors are open and we continue to produce only the finest quality workmanship available today in the Valley of the Sun, one job at a time.
Kudos to the Desert Stoneworks crew . . . I’m extremely proud of you all.
